I personally prefer good old sandbags. The lead sled is nice, but it is too expensive. I have seen a guy at the range bust his stock in one! He was shoot a .300 Win Mag, if I remember correctly, and when he shot it, the stock just snapped! Something else, your zero may differ from shooting out of one of those, and off the shoulder.

I wouldn't waste my money. When are you ever going to shoot the gun in a hunting or defensive situation with it in the sled? Save your money and buy some ammo.

If you just need a good rest, sand bags, front and rear work just fine. If you want a little more, get one of Midway's front rests with a rear bag. Still be less than a lead sled, I think. Molon Labe Kim |

That and who wants to carry around 25lb bags of shot. Get a good front rest, and a rear bag, you'll be driving tacks in no time.
