Score!!!

I was down at my favorite local gun store yesterday, and while talking with the owner, got a deal to good to pass up. He had a bunch of 5 lb cans of Hi-Skor 800-X sitting there. He said he got a deal on them and would sell me a can for $50 even. $10 per pound of powder...don't think I'll see prices like that very often. Not anymore anyway.

IMR has load data on every thing from .25 ACP to the .45 Colt in pistols. It also shines for heavy fast field loads in the 12 and 20 gauges. I've only used it in the past with the shotguns, but now I'm think I'm going to have to branch out with it into the pistol rounds as well.

Re: Score!!!

That is a deal, its good powder too. Years ago I was just married and having a new baby boy and wife, I made a deal to buy all of a friends reloading equipment. Needless to say my wife at the time wasn't happy.I trade a Ruger GP 100 4 inch and was to pay him $500.00 paying it out at $25.00 a month until paid for. She hit the roof, until I showed up with $250.00 dollars the next day just from selling off the brass that I didn't use. % gal. bucket full of 38 super nickle plated brass. Had several press's which over time I sold and so forth. Bottom line, I more than made my money back hand over hand. As a matter of fact me ordering the new Vaquero's waqs because I still have at least 20,000 wade cutters 3, 5 gal buckets of 38 sp brass and a 5 gal bucket of 357 brass. I have yet with all the shooting I have done had to buy small pistol primers. Still have 4 pounds of his powder I am going to use HS5 and Red Dot. Trash can fulll of 12 ga wads as well. Placea good bit of shot 70 pounds or so.
Around 30,000 semi wad cutters as well pretty close to 1,000 196 lead bullets in 38 as well. Not to mention that I have load 15,000 38's loaded right now.
He was run scared of the Clinton eara thinking they were going to come door to door. So i am good for a day or two, but one does have to buy when the sale is there, he was in a hurt I guess as no one will buy used powder or primers and I was in the market. I wasn't shooting in those days much. My wife at the time would tell me there is no way your going to use all that you have. Well for the last 2 years starting my 3 rd year I am.
Oh yea 300 shot shells too anything from buck shot to turkey loads and anything in the middle lol.
Wonder if ya could buy all the powder at that price? Course depends on what the check book will support too.
