Anyone make these? The store bought are mighty expensive. $1 each for the 45acp and $1.50 each for the Colt rounds. |

There was an article just a few months ago in Guns Magazine about reloading the shot in pistol rounds. If I had it, I would send it to you, but I usually drop them off in the shop. I have never done it, as I might use 4 or 5 rounds a year.

Now that you mention that, Tim, I may have that one. I'll have to go look. I was thinking drilling out the flash hole a bit, then using powder and BB's then top it off with a cardboard wad. |

You don't need to drill out the flash hole. Do that for primer only loads (like wax or plastic bullets). You can use gas checks, styrofoam, or cardboard for wads. Smaller shot works better imho. The plastic shot capsules from speer work better than anything I have managed to concoct myself. No leading with the capsules, I always get leading when I don't use the capsules. Two things I have not yet tried. You can cut down a .410 shotshell to fit the cylinder in a .45colt. Or you can make cylinder length brass out of .444marlin. Bigger shot payload with those two options. |

I found the capsuls online and will go that route, when/if I decide to load some up. |
