H4350 is my most used powder. It doesn't last long at 60+ grains per round. H4895 is the only powder I have that comes close to matching the versatility of 3031.

Never have tired any of the AA powders. I like 748, in my 270 and all of my mag ammo I use 4831. When I buy the powder I have had them ask me if i was getting ready for war lol but as was stated 60 to 70 grains a round eats up a pound fast. I have been thinking of just buying 3031 as it will work in every rifle ammo I load. Other wise its a little of this one and that one.

I have a load with IMR 3031 that will shoot to an honest 3/4" under an 87 gr bullet in my Model 99 in 250 Savage. My 270 likes H4831 under a Sierra 130 gr bullet and my 30/06 does ok with IMR 4064 or IMR 4350 and 150 gr bullets. I will try some Varget with the 06 as I heard that can give some decent groups.

I have been cleaning up around here and have found some ww 680 powder. I bought a man out back in the 90's and I am sure there where I got the powder its been stored right but I can't seem to find any loading data for it. Does anyone have any idea is what cal I could use it in and which book they found the data in? Many thanks for your help.

IMR3031 is a powder that has wide range of loading data for all rifles , like Unique is to pistols . It is a little hard to meter is the only complaint . IMR4895 meter better and almost as good as IMR3031 . In the last 40 yrs I have used IMR3031 in 90% of my rifles with great success in hunting and target work .

I agree TGR but I have found that the Lee Perfect Powder measure wll make dropping your powder charges much easier. To me it was pretty high in cost but once I got it and started using it it's been worth every penny. And it will hold 1/2 pound of powder too.

Deputy .... Hammer dies are used by 95% of the winning benchrest shooters in USA . Instead of a hammer a small $90 press works great .

Here is a target I shot using hammer dies and my XP100 I made into a benchrest rifle
