Re: Reloading the 40SW

and that what has me perplexed about thinking of reloading this round...........

the temptation exist with all the brass laying around.........and i've squirreled away a bit of loaded 40........

supported chambers...unsupported chambers.......hex rifling, std rifling, auto or revolver........the 40 is high pressure----there ain't no +P 40 on the market that i know of........its already there.

should i ever reload for this round, it will definately be a mid-range load and no more. I'd rather do a spring change on the auto than push red-line.

Re: Reloading the 40SW

8.0 gr of Power Pistol under a 155 gr JHP gives me 1 3/8" at 25 yards from bags at 25 yards with my P94. It might do better out of a rest but I can't do any better. It's a good mid-range load for the 40 S&W.

Power Pistol was developed specifically for the 40 but I like it in a lot of calibers.

Re: Reloading the 40SW

Have you seen a 1911 in 40 S&W . The 10MM works on the same PSI but the brass has a heavy web .
