I didn't even know there was a bulge!

Besides, isn't the Factory Crimp die suppose to full length resize?

Re: LEE push thru dies

Normal resizing dies can not reach to the bottom of the case because some of the case is inside the shell holder. In most cases this does not matter as the base is solid and does not usually expand, but in small high pressure cases like the .40 S&W there tends to be a bulge if the gun has an unsupported chamber. I have seen 9mm cases with a step when using Lee carbide resizing dies as Lee uses a ring of carbide and a tapered case like the 9mm needs a sleeve with the taper ground into it. If the chamber is large and lets the lower part of the case expand I have seen dies leave a small step on other calibers as well, though it was just cosmetic, unlike the .40 S&W.

This would be for someone who wants to use all that .40 S&W brass no one else wants at the range because some of it was shot in Glocks.

You will need a Lee factory crimp die of the proper caliber also.

Yes they work good ... Personally I run all my bottom feeders threw a RCBS taper crinp die for the last step for a 100% feed . The newer Glocks [2005] have alot of support now .

Re: LEE push thru dies

Taper crimp die fixes a ton of defects in loaded ammo . It is adjustable to made ammo fit a YOUR chamber or a case that is bulged . I even run factory ammo in it to double check it . Shooting beer cans or paper targets , taper crimp is not needed and no big deal . When it come to betting my life on it , I taper crimp it and check it in a barrel of the gun before putting into a mag .... .
