Well wanting another Handi to add to the collection for just varmint hunting, I decided that I want the Ultra Varmint Fluted in either the 22-250 or the .223 Rem. I know I could just order the stock set from Choate and extra barrel from H&R 1871, but I want a seperate Handi all set up to go when I want to use it. The regular Ultra model does not have the flat beavertail forestock with the extra bi-pod stud, so this one below is what I'm going to get here in the next couple of months now. ![]() And of course this one will be topped with a Nikon scope as well. |

For a varmint gun I prefer the 22-250. Hypersonic muzzle velocity and accuracy out to about a 100million light years. Downside is barrels don't last as long as the .223s

I got one a few years back in the .204 chambering, accurate bugger. Zips right along without generating the heat & pressures of the 22-250 and don't wear the barrels like they do. The BC of the 204 cal pill has an advantage over the 224 and shoots flatter at distance. (one future project is building a .204 upper for my Bushmaster) Now I don't have the fancy stock but this one is quite comfortable & stable. |

I need a new st/steel 10/22 plane Jane stock carbine to finish off my rack of all 17 types of different stock 10/22. But I'm wanting a 303 British rifle, the long sucker and all stock kreg too. So I guess i got no real answer to this question..... |

I'm buying another barrel from someone that is selling the .204 Ruger barrel shipped @ $115.00 just for my current stock set up. That is the wonder of these little Handi Rifles is that you can re-barrel them suckers, and all I have to add to the new barrel is its own scope. This one will get a scope that is worthy of the cause for varmint and preditor shooting | |

The one I have is a 10-40 power with a 1/8 moa dot at center of a set of super fine crosshairs. When that is at or near full power you can actually see the dot bounce with your heartbeat |
