What was it before you shot it? Also what type of round did shoot it with. Wow what a mess.

Snuffy I did not shoot it, but another guy did at 200 yards using a 204 Ruger cartridge Hornady 32 gr V Max bullet. Now I don't now if you know the fps but its 4030 fps. The Barnes Varmint Granade 26-gr travels even faster than this.

But that was a prairie dog.

That's a crazy cartridge. Any good for white tail or too small?

I want a handi rifle with a 223 barrel.

Depends on your states regulations, here in Montana yes they can be used but I would only take a head shot with it.

The 223 Rem is a great cartridge, and will serve you well in a Handi Rifle.

I like 30 cal for white tail, myself. I haven't been hunting with a firearm in 14 years.

My new 204 Ruger barrel has arrived, lock up is tight just like my 7mm-08 barrel is. This is going to be a very nice addition to my growing stable of single shot rifles and barrels. The little 32-gr V Max bullet is gonna zing out of this barrel at 4020 FPS and make some contact with coyotes for sure.

BH no this I would not use on deer, as that is what my 7mm-08 is for :P

The 7mm-08 is a much better choice for deer. That little 204 should be fun for coyotes though.

Yep BH the 7mm-08 is for Deer, Elk, Moose and Black Bears and the .204 Ruger is for Predators and Varmint.
