I saw one of these at my local last night. It had scope rings on it. I had no idea that Remington made one. It was used and was marked $595. I've always thought that the double barreled guns used in Africa were kind of cool, and thought briefly about getting this one. I'm not going to, because money is tight and I don't need it. But it's nice to know that I could get one if I wanted. Anyone else ever see or own one of these? |

Yep. The Remington "Brand" just made them more expensive for the consumer. I hope EAA gets the Saiga imorts again. Now who gets the VEPR line??? They are almost non-existent these days

i got to handle one of the remingtons down here a while back...........interesting at the point of being different. But for an o/u hunting rifle caliber rig, i still like them old savage model 24's in 30-30/20ga. Always thought that combo would be about perfect. When i hunt deer, i've seen turkey. when i hunt turkey, i've seen deer..... ![]() my luck, i'd get a model 24 and then would not see either....... |

If I had the $$$$ I'd get it, depending on it's condition... but then, I like single shots and double triggered rifles and shotguns. I don't care for single trigger double barreled anythings.

Seems like back in the 19th century and into the early 20th, a bunch of British gunmakers stayed quite busy making double rifles for the hunters on the 'dark continent'. Like to have one of those myself. Molon Labe Kim |

The double trigger double rifle has always been a close range dangerous animal gun. It is not usually accurate at longer ranges because of the crossover and it is heavy to carry around, but it is short and fast handling for it's barrel length and is virtually two separate rifles should something break or fail. It is the fastest gun for two shots, is faster or as fast for four shots and is much faster for six, when compared to a bolt action. I can't really see a scope unless it is a low powered fast sighting scope for someone who's eyes need it. A red dot or express sights make more sense. In .30-06 it seems to have a very limited application, except as a fun gun or for hunting in close cover where long shots are not offered. In a heavier caliber it might make sense for bear. Maybe .35 Whelen? |

I would think it would be a fun gun to hunt hogs with. Maybe even cats.
