Got to shoot a full auto Tommy gun

We where kinda slow last Thursday, and one of the regulars that comes in had his full auto Tommy gun there, and asked me if I want to shoot it. Well, I couldn't say yes fast enough. Never shot a real one before. It was just awesome. Lot of fun. Doesn't kick at all, but you sure can go through a mag in a hurry. Can't afford my habit now, so no way I could ever afford one of those, let alone ammo to feed it, but I sure can wish.

Cool. I'd like to shoot one, but I'll never own one.

I got to shoot one in the service , too heavy for me . I liked the 30 carbine in full auto better it is lighter and more accurate . A MAC 10 is a real treat and it is a good hide gun and it is 25 yd gun but it's goes threw ammo fast and will shoot anything you put in it and silencer screws right on it . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDAcM_lz ... r_embedded

Re: Got to shoot a full auto Tommy gun

...I'd not wanna use full auto unless it was to stop a vehicle...and I'd want that mounted...shot a 60 once...not much fun...not too easy to carry IWB...but a cool experience...I'd like to do it....and I'm glad to learn that the weight cuts the recoil...is it hard to hold from rising???

Re: Got to shoot a full auto Tommy gun

I surely understand your excitement from that experience. I fired one a few times also and, in the mid-seventies, even carried one in LE for about a year...until it was "recalled" and, if memory serves me well, became part of a swap for AR's. This one was really cool...had th' case, stick mags AND a "drum" mag!!!

Re: Got to shoot a full auto Tommy gun

...never held a live one...let alone fired it...but the demil one I held was so heavy...I'd rather tote a pump shotgun...or a 60!!!

Anything in full auto is a gas. Gunrunner as much as you dis 'mouse guns', you 'prefer' the granddaddy of all mouse guns......the 30 carbine. I'm amazed.

Re: Got to shoot a full auto Tommy gun

Yessir, Sheepdog, th' darn things ARE heavy. But, heck, when you're young, dumb and, well, you know...gettin' ahold of a real "Tommy Gun"was 'bout as cool as it could get...nevermind th' practicality (or, lack of!) of th' thing!!
