Me too. I have a case of the hot runnin' wants for a Winchester Hi Wall in one of the big calibers, 45-90, 50-110. Molon Labe Kim

I love the round in a Revolver, but never had that round in a Rifle.

i hear tell it can be ramped up purty good in a rifle. my problem is i'm purty well vested in the 38 spl round and just don't want to and can't afford to go hog wild in another caliber set-up.........which is exactly what i would do. its the nature of the beast....

Watched the little carbines listed in the last two editions of the CDNN catalog. I'd had some prior experience with a similiar H&R in 38-55, and recalled that it was a nice rifle for the money. So...I finally "broke down" and ordered one...as did a friend that I work with. It arrived yesterday. Looks pretty sharp, particularly for the cost. The walnut stock is very nicely figured, and the fore-end ain't bad either. The case-coloring looks OK, and the blue-black finish on the barrel is adequate. I'll shoot it in the .45 Colt some, but the thing will be headed back to H&R soon to have a 22 Hornet bbl fitted and possibly a SG bbl also. The only complaint thus far is that it appears that the butt plate screws weren't aligned as straight as they should have been, so I'll probably have a bit of "dremel time" smoothing the screw edges... When I get to shoot the stubby little beast, I'll try to crony the carbine bbl against the 5-1/2" Vaquero. |

definately looking forward to a report!!!! The stocks on these things alone look like a pretty penny and cut above the std apple-crate wood. I'm sure someone out there in the handi-holic world will probably ream one out to 454 casull.... |
