...in some cases, that'd be an appropriate application...

Re: smith m&p........

Bankshot just took delivery of a new M&P in .40 S&W. He had it with him on our weekly sojurn to the Bulletstop indoo range in Wichita Friday. It appears to be roughly the same size as my XD Tacticle so it must be a five inch. It seemed to shoot pretty well for him, but I have no personal experience with it, as he was in his normal stingy mode and didn't offer to let me shoot it. I, however, in my normal magnanimous style, offered and allowed him to shoot my Smith. Maybe he'll weigh in here and tell all.

Re: smith m&p........

I knew that wasn't right when I typed it and I knew somebody would give me grief about it. It's a right one. Damn dog and you wonder why I like cats.

Re: smith m&p........

I recently purchased an M&P 40 Pro (5" barrel).......still gettin' used to it but think I'm gonna' really like it. Feels comfortable in my hand with the interchangeable palm grips, just worlds apart from a 1911. Goin' in to the range tomorrow to run a few more rounds through her, if I'm satisfied I'll probably start carrying it for the summer months. Can't believe how easy they are to clean compared to a 1911 (which is still my preferred carry weapon), and I thought a 1911 was easy (and fun) to field strip!

I promise I'll share tomorrow........I was so into trying to get the feel last time we shot I ran through all the ammo I had brought before I realized it. Kim's just being a "bawl-tit".......I share lots of stuff with that ol' coot.

I love my M&P 9FS. I traded in a troublesome Glock 19 Gen4 and the M&P is much more accurate and reliable. I won't be buying any more Glocks. I also use the PDX1s and like them very much. I use Gold Dot short barrel in my Kahr CM9.

I got mine a week ago and have put 180 rounds through it so far including Winchester White Box, Federal Champion, Remington UMC 115 gr JHP & Winchester PDX1 124 +p. I had 1 FTE with the Champion & 1 FTE with the WWB. All but the Champion performed well. The Champion had weak ejections and was not as accurate. The trigger is great, the grip angle and sights are very good and I have been very pleased. I believe that the trigger will be even more smooth after I get more rounds through it.
