I'd wanted a Kel-Tec P-11 but was put off from the mixed reviews on them that I'd read by owners/shooters on various forums. Ruger seems to have gotten it right with their version of it and the prices I'm seeing have it below 4 bills. http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/ruger-lc9/ |

I have been staying out of the toy store just because I know if they have one there it would come home with me. Only have one 9mm and its an old FNB hi power.

I thought about getting one to replace the LCP for carry, but I'm not sure. Looks pretty good, and I'm sure it would beat the snot out of the Kel-Tec.

i'm not thrilled with the ruger design of the magazine safety...........don't know if it can be modified/removed on this one....... they also put the manual safety on the wrong side.... and the mag release is not reversable................ this lefty is gonna pass on this one........... |

...I'd go for a melted-edged DAO 9mm that size...with no safeties or disconnects...and no lockhole...as a last-chance backup...but nobody's made one...love my old stainless Jframe Bodyguard!!!

Good comments, and I'm glad as I just ordered the LC9 today. I handled it, and the KelTec which seemed a bit bulky for desired light weight carry. The S&W SD9 that I have, is a bit on the bulky side for nice carry during the summer months. So I opted to order the LC9, that will accompany my lightweight J Airweight.

Let us know what you think of it, JB. I'm still considering one myself. I just have to stop buying other things. |

I liked the feel of it much better than the KelTec with its trigger that pinched my trigger finger, seems lighter but less rounds. Long trigger pull, but so does my SD9, that I'm going to sell now so I don't lose money on the trade.... as they always get you on trades. I can get far more on selling it with its Galco KingTuc inside the wasteband holster.

Had mine for about a month now, about 100 rounds through it, most UMC. I like it, it is my summer time carry.

Well the LC9 arrived yesterday, and I must say I had to molest it a bit before the owner of the shop put it away. I will pick it up on Thursday and can't wait to get the first rounds down the pipe to see how it handles.

I'm rather interested in seeing your impressions when you have shot it a bit.
