I think they did good with all it has and keeping the price down. It should be around $650-$700 in stores I would think. I really figured they'd be around $1000-$1100. I have 2 Springfields and have no need for another 1911. I have a lot on my list ahead of it, so I don't think I'll own one. I think they will sell well though.

From the video of this on youtube and the article I think I'd much prefer one of these now to Remington's R1 1911. |

I'd pay the extra for the Ruger too. But I'm keeping my Springfields. |

Just when I'm ready for my AR.......guess I'll have to talk to my buddy at the pawn shop, and see if they'll take my GP100 and SP101 on trade......said many times, if Ruger came out with a 1911, I'd get one....and it being SS, well that's right up my alley.....different set of grips, and ya got a combat or a BBQ gun........I like.....

quite a bit to like here......and no add-ons to "improve" the design. wonder what the real world price will be? i like the notion that the plunger tube is part of the frame and not stake-on.......to many old 1911s' i've seen where the plunger tube gets walkee-jaw. not thrilled about the witness hole for a loaded chamber indicator.........what-ever happened to an old-fashioned press-check? what advantage is there in milling the bushing from the same piece of bar stock as the barrel and keeping the two parts together thru assembly for a service grade weapon? there was mention of all parts (except perhaps grips and sights) are made in-house.............no mention of MIM parts which no doubt will cause another big debate. I really thought ruger would proudly state if this 1911 was "MIM free". Wonder if ruger is going down this path and producing MIM? finally, no doubt that this will suddenly re-ignite the endless debate about cast vs forged frames...................... i like it........real-world price will be the determining factor especially with me........plus some production time under its belt. |

According my my local pawn shop, it will be a while before they can get any.....they buy from Davidson's, and all of theirs are allotted......back to concentrating on the AR..... |

also, it was rather nice that ruger put the billboard warning on the bottom side of the dust cover............... making their own mags also with the ruger logo.........nice touch. i thought ruger had farmed out to mcgar to save money. |
