Question AT92 (Beretta 92FS Clone)

These have been on the market for a little while and saw some priced as low as $300 initially. Apparently they're almost exactly copies of the 92FS although made in Turkey. If you could still get them for $300 they'd be a great deal. I could see swapping some of the parts out with those from a Beretta i.e. grips, locking block, barrel etc.. and making it better yet.

I like $300 guns, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Re: AT92 (Beretta 92FS Clone)

i worry about any warranty. parts should not be a problem however with this one.

used beretta 9mm's usually still retain their value it seems when looking on the used market.........hard to find them for under $400.

but cdnn did have used beretta 96's for around $360..............and these had that silver np finish i believe. But the 40 cal beretta 96 is a dieing animal probably due to weight and the 10 rd magazines.

The AT92 is a 9×19 mm parabellum, where do you get the ammo? Never heard of it. I must be a dumb one.

9x19 is the 9mm Luger cartridge. The standard 9mm service or NATO cartridge. No problem to find.

9x18 is the Makarov

9x17 is the .380 ACP or 9mm Short

9 nato?

been reading up more about this turkish gun.......it actually started life as a licensed beretta copy and was basicly built and designed like beretta's where in the 90's............with no plastic parts.

it actually reads purty impressive. CDNN at the moment only has the 4.3" barrel centurion model........

I think the normal loads for 9mm up until WW2 were hotter than the standard loads today. In the 1970s and 1980s it was not uncommon for wartime Lugers to malfunction with factory ammo as it needed hotter loads. A friend actually had to have a loading shop make him some higher pressure loads so his Luger would work properly. The domestic factories tended to load light in fear that the rounds would end up in the Italian Glisentis which found their way here. This gun was a straight blowback handgun that used a case like the 9mm Luger but loaded to .380 power and pressures. It was safe with it's proper ammo but it would chamber the much hotter Luger rounds and was dangerous with it. When the 9mm became so popular they started loading +P and +P+ loads for the modern pistols and these seem closer to what was loaded before.

I've read that some older German ammo hit 1,400 fps with bullets weighing 100 grains or better. That's hot!

I think NATO ammo is rated at 1,200 fps with a 124 grain bullet. I think that would rate as a +P load.
