The new Ruger is a POS!!!

I put 15 rounds thru it and it jammed about 5 times. It wouldn't eject or pick up the next bullet. When it did pick up the next bullet, it wouldn't go into battery. Thing looks brand new, but I think I know why it was traded in. I'm shocked and disgusted that a Ruger is so poor. I'm about done with Ruger.

Mine has worked 100% from day one. Not a minutes trouble. Have you cleaned it? Are the mags factory mags? Lots of things could be happening here. If it is used, you can't get all pissed at Ruger if the previous owner did something to the gun!

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

While working at the gun shop, I have had more than one person bring a P series gun in that they couldn't get back together. Lots of times when you take the slide off, the ejector will pop back up. It HAS to be down for the slide to go back on. Seen guys that tried to force the slide back on and bent the ejector beyond repair. Check it.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

I think the ejector is bent, but It could be a few things and I don't want to waste time or money on a used gun. I may very well go get a S&W SD9. About $350 new.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

Alright, I went to the shop I bought it at and we stripped it down and put about 15 rounds of Winchester thru it. It seems to be working now. I'm going to try the Blazer again and see what happens. It could be the aluminum cased ammo, but I wouldn't think that the Ruger would be too picky. It has always worked in my other 9's and 45's. I'm going to try and test it tonight. If not then tomorrow at lunch. I'll let you guys know what happens. I feel a little better now. But if it's picky that'll suck.

But if it's picky

Send it back to Ruger,With the amount of guns you buy, bought the dealer should send it in for you, or dose he not warranty his used guns.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

They'll take the gun back no problem. If it acts up, that's what I'll do. I'm not sending it to Ruger and waiting for months. I'd rather just buy an XD, or the S&W SD9.

I'll know tomorrow. I was going out with it tonight, but it's pouring again.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

Sounds like the previous owner may have done a little tinkering on the internals or like Tim said, a problem with the ejector. Glad you guys were able to get it back up and running again though. Mine has always been 100% also so was surprised to hear yours had an issue.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

Bummer. I loved my P95, but it did have a hard time with some ammo. I don't remember having any trouble with 115 grain anything, but it did have some problems cycling heavier ammo (it had a few stovepipes). It is one of the reasons why I prefer revolvers. I get annoyed at ammo pickiness.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

most aluminum blazer ammo that i have tried and observed seems to be long..........very long in over-all length. compare a blazer rd to a winchester.

i had a cz 85 that was totally reliable.except with blazer.........this is not the first time aluminum blazer has been brought up with autos......

it may be in accordince with oal....but it is pushing it.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

I'm going to use Federal or maybe the Blazer brass from now on. I have over 100 rounds of the Aluminum. I'll return the unopened boxes if it still won't shoot them today.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

Put 6 rounds thru each of the mags and it functioned 100%. I'll put another 100 thru it this weekend and see what happens.

Re: The new Ruger is a POS!!!

Makes me happy. I was thinking that I may have to spend another $150, or more, on a different gun.
