Sig P250

Jen just bought one. Seems liek a nice little gun. About the same size as my P95, and holds 15 rounds as well. The trigger on it is great. It's DA only and has a nice feel and balance to it. I'm going to run a magazine full of Federal thru it on my way home tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it works.

It was $386 OTD. That's the cheapest Sig in the world I think. You can change the entire body on this gun to make it any size you want. Weird, but cool.

That is a real good price. You plan on getting different calibers and different size frames?

a dedicated p250 board here............ http://www.p250sig.com/

came across this board a while back researching this gun as Academy Sports and Buds gun shop have also been running some sales...........

there seems to be some contention out there about a basic change in the production run starting i believe in dec/2010..........been causing some headaches about magazines....just a heads up.

Nope. She likes it just the way it is. I do too.

Yep the magazines changed. I have the new model. The mags are expensive. Cheapest I can find are about $40 shipped.

Re: Sig P250

I don't really care for the 250. The four little tabs that serve as frame rails left me unimpressed and they did not seem to do well in the Federal competitive tests as the earlier Sigs did. I wish they would come out with a single stack version of the 226 and 229 that gave a narrower grip frame to help with DA control for those with smaller hands, a kind of enlarged 225 that was suited for .40 S&W and .357 Sig but was a bit narrower than the 220.

I doubt it will happen. Beretta used to make a single stack version of the 92 but it did nor seem to sell so I guess too many people think they need 15+ rounds without a reload. Too bad, as I think control is more important.

Re: Sig P250

I agree that control is important, but having 15 rounds in one magazine should insure that you'll never be put in a position to have to reload in an emergency.

While the P250 isn't the best quality gun out there, I think that for a defensive hi-cap 9mm, it'll work fine. It also fits Jen real good. She's been carrying the LCP, and hates shooting it, so practicing isn't high on her list. I insisted that she get a gun she can shoot comfortably so she can practice more. The 9mm round is less expensive than the 380 also. Another thing I really like about the Sig is it's a DA only. It's safe to carry in her bag, and the trigger pull is the same every time.

I don't know how it will hold up over time, but I think it should hold up as well as the P95 I just got. I'll shoot it today and post.

Re: Sig P250

...glad the Lovely One has found a more potent pistol...lotta rounds out now for the 9 that beat the .38...she'll practice more now that she's not getting her hand rapped by an ultralight...does the DA trigger have a second strike capability??? I mean can she, if she has a dud, pull the trigger again to hit it again, or does she have to partially retract the slide to re-cock the hammer?

It is interesting that you can buy two guns in one with the "2Sum." I am not in the market for a semi, but I would at least have to take a close look at that one if I was. I look forward to range reports.

Re: Sig P250

A former co-worker/friend of mine has one of these and he's enamored with it from what he says. I do like the engineering where you can remove the internals and place them in another Sig P250 frame if you want to opt for another size body and/or chambering. He's never bought additional frames and barrels for his though if I had a P250 I would. I run a .357 Sig upper on my Glock sometimes and also need to get a barrel in 9mm. If I picked up a .22 conversion kit I'd have a 4-in-1 firearm and it doesn't get too much better than that.

I'm not sure. I don't think the hammer has to be reset. It's just like a revolver, so it should just send the hammer down on the pin again and again. That's what I get from dry firing it.

My local carries a few different bodies for it too. I didn't see the price.

its an entertaining notion for flexibility and cost savings...........but as they say, "putting your eggs in one basket".............

then i was a competitive shooter with a T/C in the silhouette games and hunting and generally barrel crazy, the loss of one frame component took you out of the game and denied the flexibility to shoot any caliber/barrel length......period. whcih is why myself and others always had a spare frame.

murphy's law...............and the more a particular endevour depends on one aspect then the more likely a visit from murphy............
