The 40 in a subcompact is just too snappy for me. I've never even fired a 40, but watching videos, you can see the gun jump real hard. The full size would be better I think. The 9mm sub would be fine though. Keeps on target better, the ammo is half the price, and it's quieter.

They both stop being fun after a few magazines. The lighter bullets may have a sharper report and more flash but they don't sting as much. With the service type guns the .40 is fine. |

I'll have to try one just once. Maybe I'll get a new Glock. I actually looked at the SR9 and SR9C, before choosing the Glock. The SR9 fits the hand real well and points nice, but the trigger felt funny. |

Since you like the Glock it would seem the best choice. especially as it comes in all sizes. The .40s are very common as police trade-ins. You couldn't ask for a more rugged or reliable platform.

That's not true, Tim. Mac, my local always has the police trade ins. I looked at some a couple of weeks ago. The problem is, they are full size and I'd rather have a compact. Although the full size would be a good gun for my bag. I could also get a 9mm barrel and have 2 guns in one for fairly cheap. Would the G17 mags fit the full size 40? I guess they would, huh? |

...G17 is the full 9...G22 is the full .40...Midsize is 23...if I had to carry a Glock...and .40...it'd be the 23...if I had to carry a Glock 9, it'd be the 19...best size/capacity compromise...I'd personally go from the .45 to the 9 and skip the .40...didn't like my G22 and don't care for the round...satisfied that the hotter 9 rounds will be fine, if needed...
