ran across an item while on the net........... basicly, what caught my attention is that is changes the grip angle by pinning on an adapter.....think of it as a Tyler T but for the back strap. they sell for around $24 and would seem to cure my biggest complaint about the grip angle. http://jerkingthetrigger.com/blog/20...er-for-glocks/ |

But they will hold up to many many rounds through them as man I know that does the chl its all he use's and in the years that he has been doing the class not one has failed. So that does say a lot for glock. I am more of a sig man and once having shot the 357 sig. its all I want or need in a carry gun. A few so's around my neck of the woods carry them but I am told that Dallas and Forth Worth can't because of AD's. Of course that was what I was told have no proof. nope...........carry a sig 226DAK issued weapon in 40 cal. (my Sheriff hates glocks) in the LEO world, at least in my area and surrounding counties, the over-whelming issued or personally owned duty weapons are the glock. And if i understand the national stats.........over 60% of all officers in this Country either thru dept issued or personally owned weapons have a glock. Now that can be for several reasons. Pricing certainly comes to mind. And along with that there is the glock toughness, light weight, and reliability that can not be disputed. And of course, glock's highly successful marketing to the LEO market that is making everyone else play catch-up. Glock holsters abound, glock accessories abound...............and if one was to drink the "kool-aide" as they say, the glock is the most successful handgun design introduced in the past 50 years and today is the "AK" of the handgun world. And i personally hate the glock. Hated it when it first came out because it was plastic........that prejudice on my part is fading (not with my Sheriff). And i hated it because of the grip angle. I know part of me goes back to that old saying of "if everyone jumps off a bridge would you" when it comes to glocks...........and i hate a "herd" mentality of going with the "flow" just because eveyone else is. But the sales figures and years of service would indicate it is not a buying "fad". the numbers issued and seen in holsters would indicate that i might be too stuborn and missing out on something here.....................but i hate that grip. TDC is attemping to make the move to the S&W M&P in 357 sig. At first we were told Glocks but then budget restaints put a stop to that for some reason. But the Transport officers are said to be carrying them these days. I don't want to switch, to me that would mean buying a new holster when what works for me I already have a holster that I love and have been using for years. I am with your Sheriff and his out look on Glocks. I am thinking you are carrying the right weapon now. As a matter of fact I am going to see what kind of a deal I can make to get my old one back. I know they are big and heavy but they shoot good for me or at least that one did. But come on now you know any more they are going to do everything they can to get more people to qualify even if they have to get them a stool to stand on see the target. Ya know I already feel safer knowing that there is a 4 foot 6 leo out there that drags his baton on the curb as steps up out of the street carrying his or her less than 4 inch glock and has passed the safety requirements of being able to draw the glock and not shoot themselves in the foot. I know you feel safer knowing that the new TDC officer has now had the time requirements dropped on qualifing with a state pistol. There was just no way they were ever going to make it dragging the gun belt around them to get the pistol to where they could draw it out of the holster. Now mind you they don't knock off points for dropage any more so long as they don't shoot the officer next to them. We do still issue 38 caliber pencils ya know. |
