I've decided I need a new pistol.

Let me explain. Out at my place I like ".40 + cals throwing at least 200 gns at close to 1,000 fps. (give a little here, take a little there). But I am frequently called upon to slick up a bit an hea to town for something or another. Now I CAN conceal a big revolver if I work at it, an I o have smaller revolvers an some autos, but (come on we all know how to rationalize a new gun). I am particularly fond of the 10mm for it's bullet and ballistics. In all honesty I have used a handgun for putting down injure stock and big animals. but I like a flat auto with a bit of capacity in the urban jungle. SOOO having been very happy with my EAA Witness I put a 10mm top on I am thinking the compact mpel might suit. I have a Glock 22 an am not overwhelmed with it. My EAA with either the 10mm or the original .45 top will outshoot the Glock an the CZ-like ergos of the EAA suit me much better.

Thoughts ? experience?

Its a double stack but the XD sub-compact works for me. Mine is 9mm but you can also get it in 40.

I have a small hand and NO double stacks in DA fit my hand . The Kahr is a top of the line gun , plus in large cal the trigger reach is short and perfect for me . I shorten the grip on my CW45 for pocket carry if I need to and the same size as my Glock 27 .

So whats wrong with the Glock that you need a new pistol? Or is it just an excuse for an "I want". In that case the Glock won't work.

I got confused and meant this for a differant thread.......must be getting old.

I have the G22 as well as the G31 .357 Sig. I like the G31 better for carry. Both are a little bulky, so when I need to I switch to the CZ 75 compact.

It's more of a caliber issue. Besides the long odds of needing it against two legged predators, I have used a pistol on vehicle injured wildlife of the large kind and livestock. I like big numbers in terms of sectional density. It's been my experience that, when fired from a handgun, a bullet needs SD to penetrate. The .40 cal in an autoloader doesn't get there until 200 gns. Thus the need for the 10mm and the extra velocity doesn't hurt.

As Far as the Glock, I am ambivalent about them. I have a 22c an I am not overly impressed with it's ergos and I don't think that will change with the caliber. Besides, the Glock is the least accurate of my .40s and I just can't bring myself to buy a hangun, no matter what "advantages" it may have, that is less accurate and fits my less comfortably, than another model I have experience with. I like the CZ-type grip and handling.

The Glocks in 10mm are big sellers around here for CCW because of the reasons outlined, others have the same concerns as I, but I can find no one with any experience with the Compact EAA in 10mm. I like my full size as do others with them, but nobody packs the compact. Is there something I don't know?

Ok, that makes sense. The real reason I carry is to protect my right to carry. The odds of me ever needing to use it is slim.

If I had that issue, I'd be looking for a 3-4 inch barreled 610 big, but, I carry a 625 anyway when I can use a tall size cover shirt.

Well I have a model 58 and a 629 4" but they don't work well in an IWB when I put my "town clothes" on.
