I had the idea to buy an unusual firearm and ended up with the Glock 31 .357 sig. Some say eehh, some say that's cool. It is not as expensive to shoot if you can buy bulk, which I can, I even got 500 rounds of frangible ammo for it. To this day I do not regret buying it and it doubles as my carry piece. Shoots dead on and durable to boot. Loud as hell, but I can deal with that. I have to post pics at work, I am on iPad. ( you have seen one anyway ). What say you?

I think it falls into the gategory of "Neat, but,,," The ballistics have been available in the .38 Super since the 1930s and never really set the world on it's ear. It does have some fine features such as flat shooting at distance, but I am of the opinion that the art of hitting something, with a handgun past 15 yds, is dying anyway. I see few testing a handgun at the old standard of 25 yds anymore. I rarely hear of someone even practicing at that distance. heaven help them if they have to engage at 35 yds. But I digress. I am also a "heavy bullet fan. the Sig round isn't designed for more than 125 gns, basically. To the good side it does offer a close approximation of the 125 gn .357 load that has been highly popular and that is to the good. It also does so in a bottle neck round which gives a bit more in the reliability range IMO and I am fond of bottle neck auto rounds ( .30 Luger/Tokarev, 400 cor-bon, .41 avenger) I have two guns, Glock 22, Sig2340, that would be easily converted and if I run across a barrel for one of them I will certainly pick it up for slaps and grins. |

If I can find a M&Pc in .357 Sig then I will own one. I do already have dies and a pile of cases to start loading.

Firedragon was IIRC making braarels for the 2340 and there were factory barrels as well and they ran of the same mags as the .40 cal, in fact some of the factory mags are marked ".357/.40" | |

I was going to buy a 357 Sig barrel for my G26. I ended up selling the G26 so I never bought the Sig barrel. Just something else I wanted but didn't need.

Bo Clerke ........ made a 38/45 for 1911 gun which works on 1/2 the pressure the 357 sig works on . Brass was super easy to make , you run a 45 acp in a 38/45 sizing die and load it . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.38/.45_Clerke |
