Have an opportunity to get a M1A National Match. Another fella bought it new 6 mos. ago and wants to sell it now. He has shot less than 20 rnds. thru it. What would be a reasonable amount to offer for this rifle?

Do you know what he paid for it?? The prices on Gunbroker seem to settle above $1,500 assume it is the same rifle. I'd offer $1,500 assuming it is like and see where it goes. They wholesale new for about $1750 all in.

He's lowered the price to $1,500 and it comes with an un-installed scope mount worth approx. $150.

He appearantly cross threaded the mount bracket trying to install it himself. Also, there is a small scratch on the stock. The hood that covers the breach is not attached or in place. The parts are all there though. It's not the stainless barrel model.

Make sure he didn't ruin the threads in the steel with the screw.

My understanding is that he damaged the bracket and not the rifle.... I'll really check this out closely when I look at it though. I don't plan to scope the gun anyway so I'm not considering the added value of the bracket.

You may not want to scope it now but down the line things change. If the threads on the rifle is damaged I would cut the value in half.
