Its a Springfield model 67 3" 12ga made by Savage. Yep I cut it off and lost the bead so I put this base on with Loctite 380Black Max, and used a Kimber made night sight, will have to go and fire some rounds through it to see if the Loctite works ![]() |

...nice shotgun (but the barrel's too long...) I think that's the Stevens 67 with a different name...Savage built some, Fox, too...Stevens was the low end models...Savage better...Fox best...I miss 'em all...good shotguns, pump and double... ...this may still be a good parts source for both... |

Nice. I'll be interested to hear if that bead holds.

Danny, the site is just glued on? I was going to do the same to mine, but figured it wouldn't hold under that kind of recoil. That's my kind of shot gun. |

...for economy, there are a lot of 12 ga. pumps to be had for $100-125 that will last 100 years...Savage, Stevens, Mossberg(Revelation)...good, cheap, powerful...Danny's is cleaner than most....but they shoot fine all scratched up...I like the bead on a base...easier to focus on it...would that lower your pattern a little???

I wouldn't worry about recoil knocking off the sight when using adhesives or epoxies. The front sight is pretty small, so it should stick to a barrel like white on rice. However, I would be concerned about the barrel warming up and causing adhesive/epoxy to loosen up. Thankfully, shotgun barrels don't heat up as much as rifle barrels.

Nice. I still don't have a front sight on my 500. I'll have to remedy that. |
