Winchester Model 97/WWII Trench Gun

Decided I'd do a little "sniffing around" for one of these classics. I figured if I did come across one in decent condition it would be a bit pricey...............Well I found one on GunBroker and holy s--t! $4K for openers and the reserve hadn't even been met! Guess I'll forget about adding one of these to my WWII "arsenal", a bit too expensive for my budget at this time. Geez, so many guns, so little money...........

Yikes! Maybe I'll do a BH to mine and see what it's worth. Probably $29.95.

I love these as well. I think the biggest concern is that you KNOW there are some of these $4k guns out there that are fakes.

I would love to have a gun some day - any gun - that had seen action in the European theater. I wouldn't care if it was a rusty sliver of metal on a rotton piece of wood, I just want to know that one of our boys held it in his hands over there.
