Lightbulb Coach Gun ammo, for home security ?

What would anyone suggest as good loads for "indoor use" in either or both pipes of a 20 Ga. double, 18" C.G. ??

...I'd get a butt cuff and put 3 rounds of buckshot (#3) in it...two slugs and two slugs in the gun...leave it almost closed...pick it up, close it, cock it...you have two accurate shots that you could shoot even if someone was holding a hostage in front of them...then your choice of what to reload with...I never would load with buckshot unless noone lived there but me...might have a bigger or flourescent front bead installed...

I would say for a 20 gauge, 7/8th oz of #4's (Pheasant Loads). It's going to be a meat grinder at hall way distances, having the pattern size of close to a softball. But it won't go though to much dry wall before it starts loosing speed real fast.

4's or 6's in a hunting load , 12 or 20 ga with 18 or 20 inch tubes are great for indoor shooting . The drywall will keep it in the room you are shooting in and no need to worry the next room .

I would stick with buckshot. Slugs are effective as well, especially for protection against large, angry bears. Any load that is an effective man stopper is going to go right through an interior wall, but not as many walls as an average handgun round.

...anything smaller than buckshot will do a lot of damage, but not penetrate much at further than across the room ranges...may not hit vital areas...I think it was BoxOTruth that illustrated this, and I think they used a 20 ga.....

...haven't found that yet...but I did find this one...shows what's effective and what's not...

...choices are less in number in 20 ga...but the above link will show you that you want to use buckshot instead of bird or even goose shot...

If I need anything larger than 4's and 6's and not worry the guy next door . $hit can the shotgun and drag out the 1911 , it is lighter , more rounds , easier to keep near you and my 1st choice for home security .

My shoulder will no longer let me use this in the SASS/CAS matches . I think this is a better house gun
