I never seen any unless the last few years, I guess there is poplluar movement toward this shotgun and ammo. Is this the caswe in any of your area's. From the looks of the round I wouldn't be bringing anything home lol. |

My local is full of 12 and 20. They have a little 16, but hardly any. All the locals, like Dick's sporting goods and Wally World only carry 12 and 20. Dick's might have had a very little bit of 16 gauge stuff, but I'm not sure.

The 28's are making a little bit of a comeback Snuffy. Guys are shooting them for skeet a lot more than they used to. With as good as the new wads and powders are, you don't always have to shoot a 12 gauge to smoke those clays.

if i ever own a 28 it will be in an h&r single shot.............. the avg age of hunters continues to climb every year as fewer young folks get into hunting due to limited access and costs. 28 ga is easier on the shoulder and at least in my area it is less expensive than 410. I ain't ready to give up my 16 just yet......but i did give up the 12 ga h&r and the 20 ga looks inviting............ i don't hunt waterfowl or crane anymore so i don't need a 12 for birds turkey hunting and blue quail hunting around here is with a rifle that leaves dove and bob whites(which i don't hunt) .........for the 16..........and in truth, the 20 or 28 guage will probably do just as well with less kick. i'm getting older and slower it would seem................ |

for younger shooters the 28 ga is less frustrating than the 410. The 28 has on average about a 1/4 oz more shot with a bigger bore & shorter shot column has better patterning than a 410. Atleast that's the thoery. I've never shot a 28 ga & the only 410's I own are 410-2" M95 "musket" conversion & a 3" Enfield No. 1 Mk III conversion. I've watched more woodchucks scamper away than ones I have killed with those. |

I see a lot of 28 ga. guns on our skeet range. Reloading helps keep the ammo cost down.
