In my search for a new waterfowl gun, which I will certainly hide in the back of my closet when I would much rather use one of my older guns anyhow, I have narrowed it down to a couple models. The criteria is: Not pricey. I have expensive shotguns. I don't like using them to paddle a boat or break ice. Plus I am going to paint this thing. 3 1/2 chamber. Synthetic. I am going to paint it anyhow. Removable chokes. The finalists are Remington 887 and Benelli Nova. I have buddies that hunt with Novas and they seem fine. I do not know anyone with a 887. Reviews I have found are mixed. Does anybody have one or ever worked with one? I want some firsthand experience, not more online reviews. I have read them all. I like the idea of the whole gun being coated with the waterproof stuff. This is the paint plan I found, I will probably leave out the reeds because I do hunt in different environments all over this state. http://www.duckhuntingchat.com/forum/vi ... 13&t=36000 |

My friend has a video of me shooting a Mossberg 3 1/2 mag game loads 33 times in a row at clay pigons. I hit 22 of them and was black + blue for 7 weeks

I don't know anything about them models, or shotguns in general, but the 835 Mossy I bought is pretty damn slick for under $300. It was used but like new.
