Re: SAVAGE ARMS 350 Pump Field/Security Combo

i might be mistaken...........but i believe that paticular shotgun is a chinese import and rebranded and distributed under the savage/stevens name.....

nothing really wrong with that but some folks are under the impression that the "brand" made the guns......a lot of them don't.

I believe that paticular shotgun was in a previous life known as a "YL12" and from memory, nothing wrong with it. It is just a copy of the classic ithaca 37.

H&R/NEF also imports chinese pumps and re-brands them as H&R's.....those are of 870 pattern and some folks believe they are an out-standing quality.

The early chinese imports did suffer from one paticular fault and that was the syenthetic stock would "melt" if gunscrubber hit it. (in all fairness, gunscrubber would also melt early walther ppks grips).....i beleive that has been corrected now....i think........so be carefull and test a spot if you have to.

You seem to have a likeing for the classic bottom eject.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!
an all-steel gun on a classic design........looking forward to a shooting report!

Especially on how you like that ghost sight system.

While I am not a fan of screw in chokes your not going to buy a new shotgun wout one on it unles its a single shot. That being said I think your shotgun will do the job and I sure you will be happy with it. Please let us know how the ghost ring works for you. Enjoy.

Re: SAVAGE ARMS 350 Pump Field/Security Combo

Thanks, guys. I just picked it up Monday night. Took it out of the box just to make sure it was all there. A couple of guys at the shop were impressed with how well it appeared to be made. The owner said it reminded him of an Ithica tactical. (37 I think)

I hope to take it out this weekend and run a few through it.

I will let you know how I and my son like it.

I am sure it will be all you have expected it to be and more. Ease of handly is a major plus, I would see a couple new wing shooters in your area (That would be you and your Son BTW)

We are happy for you pal, and of course we want to hear all the range reports as well. Remember there are no bad days at the range.
