Its resting peacfully under a nice warm blanket. It is a polished SS Vaquero in 45colt.4 5/8 bl. It's in the original Ruger plastic box along with manuel . It has been fired but now much. No nicks, cuts scratches or bruises. Serial # shows 1999-2000 mfg. My son came over tonight and showed me the gun and said if you want this for your Ruger collection ,you can have it for $XXX.00 . What you'al think its worth? ??? Played with it a little and the action is still stiff. Very tight lock up all screws lock to be untouched . |

well.............from various accounts, the "old vaqueros" are reported to be trouble free and much stronger than the "new" vaqueros. And the old vaqueros at least around here are keeping their value. For a brite polished SS "old" model in excellent condition, i'd say anything under $425 is a bargin. this one belongs to my daughter.........shoots purty dang good. |

great looking pair you have there......... yep, somewhere in there ruger switched to the plastic box for what-ever reason. some say the cardboard boxes over time could abrasive rub the finish off so they switched to plastic. others say it was strictly a cost/quality control thing................that's a heck of a note.........improved quality control on the boxes but not the guns... makes sense i guess as the product needs to get transported without damage. anyways, she won this vaquero at an nra supper.................needless to say it is priceless!!!!! |

I can undestand the box issue since thry use foam in the plastic boxes. When I bought the shot one the shop said it was a special order but they didn't get a deposit and the guy never showed up. | |
