You beat me to it! I always wondered why Ruger didn't do this.

I don't really like the ten shot DA revolvers but I like this much more. I think the six shot DA revolvers have a better pull and the ten shot cylinders can make simultaneous ejection hard but none of this applies with the Ruger and it seems like a good move, making a good revolver better with no drawback I can think of. |

+1 on Mac ....... If you need more then 6 shots gun get a bottom feeder . I never like 10 shot wheel guns , because the cylinder indexer don't have much metal there and movement is very small and miner wear will cause trouble down the line . Click on paste then cylinder . http://www.ruger.com/products/newModelS ... tures.html Ruger and some other company's don't CHAMBER there cylinder to save money , they drill them straight threw . If you can drop a round in the ft of the cylinder and it falls in and don't stop like in the pic below . They will lead up super fast and don't shoot for crap after 50 rounds . Plus Ruger use a .2235 barrel so it will shoot 22 mag also . |

Good point. The counterbores run together. I think I prefer the six, even in the SA. Thanks. |

As this one does not come with the .22 Mag cylinder, perhaps the barrel is sized correctly for the .22LR?

The bore is not the big problem , it is cylinder bore allowing the gases to run around and in front of bullet causing leading in my opinion. That is why I sold the last 3 single-six I've owned , one was a Baby Vaquero which matched my 44-40 in grip and sight picture to practice with for SASS/CAS matches . It was easier and faster to reload 44-40 then clean the lead out of the Baby Vaquero which would shoot wildly after only 100 rounds . The day I got this gun I put a brick Thunderbolt threw it to see if it would lead . Only a wet patch Hoppe then a dry patch cleaned it . |

I have been using Paco Kell’s Acu’rzr and don’t seem to have much of a leading problem, but it is and extra step to go through, gives me something to do when all the TV has is reruns and there is snow on the ground.

interesting concept...............but a SA just does not feel right unless its a 5 or 6 shooter..........i still think those hi-viz sights are rather fragile as i have seen many a 2nd hand gun with broken plastic sights.

I don't like the front sight. It's not right on a SA revolver. I also hate cleaning 22's. I'd have to pass. I'd prefer the SP101 in 22.

They made the SP in 22, don’t remember the barrel length they came with, guess it did not sell well and they stopped making it.
