I did get both cylinders. It has some small corrosion spots and some handling wear but I can clean up the former and I don't mind the latter. It looks good to me. Most of it is excellent. I hope I don't have the leading problems Gunrunner did but this was nice enough to be worth trying it. I like the look of the blue but I was concerned it might have alloy parts. I like this all steel and the trigger on this was much better than the new ones I handled. Not too light but not heavy and very crisp and clean. I also like the wooden grips. The feel and balance is very nice, it has enough weight to feel steady but is not too heavy. The 5 1/2" barrel looks and feels good to me so I am happy so far. I hope that holds after I shoot it. |

the winchester brand in 22 mag has an honest copper jacket to them........good stuff. is they lead up with 22 LR, perhaps some 22 mags down the pipe or some flitz to the bore? If i remember correctly, the single six actually split the bore dimensions for the LR and the Mag..........???? |

I have been told that the coverable single six uses the 22Mag dimensions. I use a Paco acu’rzr tool for the long rifles, it works for me. |

I have other .22 LR handguns so if it gets it's best accuracy with Magnums but does decently with LR it will work for me. They have sold millions of them so I'm hoping it works. If it works as a magnum and I like it enough I will consider one for LR only, assuming they make them that way. I have wanted something competent with Magnums but don't plan to use them much so I would rather have a convertible if it works for both. If not it is cheaper than a S&W. In any case I like the look and feel so it should be interesting to work with. My real dream is a classic S&W Mod 17 with 6" barrel, a K-22, but I have not seen a good one at a price I could afford in a long time so I am probably too late for that. The new "classic" line is expensive and I am a bit dubious about the parts. I will look at one if I get a chance but I don't see being able to afford one any time soon. In the late 90s I stopped by my favorite gun store in the afternoon and he had a K-22 and a K-38, both with 6" barrels and in nice shape for $250.00 each. I dithered over which one to get and waited. That night I decided I was being stupid and called him first thing in the morning to save both for me. Of course they were both gone. I was stupid and have kicked myself many times since. My usual tendency for impulse buying let me down that day. |

Very nice...and practical...sixgun! That 5-1/2" barrel is, to me, 'bout as all-around good as it gets...
