Re: Someone Breaks into Your House and....

...you're right on that one, Snuffer...one night I went 180 against what I had trained and planned to do and it saved my life....if I'd dropped the first armed burglar, the second would have drilled another hole in my head...listened to the voice instead of my training...or I'd have been dead....

I have picked up alot for my cas they do tel you in which order to shoot the targets of course. But each shooter has their own style of shooting and what works for them. You try to make each movement count as your running against the clock. For example if I need to move to the right I want to shoot my left pistol first so I can ber reaching for my rifle or shotgun with my right hand.

...a real-life benefit of that training is I'll bet you've walked through your house doing the same thing...left or right side of doorway....nothing we learn is wasted...the building speed would help me...I'm slow as molasses...

speed means nothing if you miss, its why I am more proud of a clean match than I am of a fast time. What really works for me is a clean match and fast time. Can't seem to get that together yet but I am working on it.

Snuffy I put lighter hammer springs in my SA for better trigger and smoother action , but I started over running target as I got faster . The lighter springs made the lock time of the hammer longer and started missing targets . I have put the stock hammer spring back in my Vaquero's to shorten the lock time . I don't wait to hear the target ring with a hit before moving on . I point , shoot and move to next target and I don't listen for hits . Most of the time I can't tell you if I had any misses . I hope this makes sense to you and helps you in some little way .

Re: Someone Breaks into Your House and....

If one person breaks in he is going to get a double tap or more . If more then one person I will do the Nevada sweep on them till my gun is dry . I've needed a gun 3 time in my life . In Philladephia Pa in 1970 , 6 gang members try to mug me after collecting my rents and walking back to my car , in 1979 Alpine CA 5 drunk indians , when me and my son was riding my dirt bike in the hills , they blocked the trail and I couldn't turn around and in Globe Az 1992 5 bikers [dirty dozen] came in my biker buddy's house looking for one of his room mates with knives and chain in hand . Now you know why I carry a bottom feeder with extra mag and not a wheel gun . Only needed to shoot my gun one time and that was in Philly . He sued me and lost and my lawyer cost me almost $3000 , the judge said next time shoot to kill , they make poor witness and can't lie . 2 yrs later someone put 5 38sp in his stomach and he died .

The only trouble is The F"en mess left behind when you shoot!

The blood splatter will rune the carpet, drapes, and the wallpaper.
Justice for all is a messy busness...
I was in a house that a guy shot himself in and well,I didn't think he had a brain that big in his head till I saw it splattered all over the room.

It was every where the floor the walls the ceiling on all the furniture.

I had a hell of a time finding anything to keep that wasn't bloody...
