Someone Breaks into Your House and....

Do you holler at them, shoot them or both. If you shout what do you say? For me pure speculation as I haven't "been there" but if I thought I saw a firearm I'd shoot without warning and if they didn't show a weapon I'd tell them to show me their hands up over their head? Then I'd have them face the wall with their hands against it up high until the PD came. All commands would be followed by "Our I'll shoot".

Your thoughts?

If you think about it,its dark you just awoke so your fuzzy.
You have to grab your gun in a hurry, and its dark!

But not to Meany more shots then 2 or 3, those kind of guys usually have big families and theres a brother or sister or dad behind him somewhere!
Mom's probably at bingo or the casino.

Get him face down on the floor. Legs crossed, arms stretched out to the sides, and make him look away from you. Never let them stay on their feet. They can be on you in under a second. With them on the floor like I've said it would take them too long to get to their feet to do any harm. I'd probably just shoot though. No one should be breaking into my house.

I'm with Terry, in WA you just have to be afraid for your life so shoot them in the front, kinda hard to be afraid when ther're running away! If they survive then use BH's plan!

Shoot to kill, no matter the circumstances. And I mean even if they are unarmed, even if it is in the back. If they are here without invitation, they ain't leaving. Dispose of the body, push the car into the river. I would rather have the death of an intruder(s) on my conscience than have to look over my shoulder and wonder if he is going to return when I am not home for the rest of my life. Cops are useless and just going to arrest him for six hours then cut him loose.

That don't work in alot of state , if you shoot always shoot to kill for 2 reason , you killed the only witness and he can't sue you . If he don't have a weapon or you shoot him in the back your in deep $hit . Just because he kicks your door off the hinges don't give you the right to kill him in most states . If a person jay walks , that don't mean you can run over him .

He can't sue you but his deadbeat relatives can and will with a slime ball ambulance chaser in for a % of the settlement. In NH you have to be in fear for your life which means you can't shoot them in the back as they are running out the door so you need to be quick enough to get them on the way in.

Don't turn a totally legit shooting into something that looks like murder. I would hate to see a good guy get time in prison because they concealed evidence and put the cops onto the wrong track.

Anyone wandering around My house without an invitation, in the middle of the night or otherwise, will be greeted by either up to 17 rounds of 9mm or, preferably up to 8 rounds of assorted 12 Ga. projectiles ! Whatever is necessary to finish the job !! Oh, & He will be armed, I guarantee it !

Re: Someone Breaks into Your House and....

Well its always good to play the what if game, at least ya have some idea as to what your going to do in thatcase if it ever happens. One really never knows for sure what they will do until it really happens. And each case is different, no matter what your training or your feelings at the time. We are not machines and we will act differently from time to time.
