...wife(who teaches at the high school) is all in a dither since the 29th...they caught a student with a loaded handgun in his backpack...lotta rumble talk between the blacks and Hispanics lately...yesterday, they caught another with a handgun in his backpack...so she's sittin' at the computer hissin' 'bout how they oughta outlaw backpacks at school...since they're comin' in in backpacks...I told her it had nothing to do with backpacks...told her I had a video she needed to see about how easy it was to carry many guns.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zepAp5qQiDw
...and she informed me in her best "teacher voice" that she's SEEN the video...
...well, I said to my old self "Now or never"...so I went over to where she sat at the computer...and got down beside her and said "I'm going to show you something and you're going to listen...it's high time you learned this..." and showed her how to get the barrel of a semiauto off herself and block the trigger(on some) and how to drop the clip on the floor, making it a single shot...told her and showed her...first time she'd looked at a gun from 2' away in her life...and she just sat there and watched...and listened...I was astounded...not one smart-assed or irritated word...and I reminded her of this video which I sent out last week...and told her she needed to watch it...and learn from a woman how to get the gun off of her...whether she will or not...who knows??? At least I tried, and she might just be scared enough to listen...she's very confrontational and down-your-throat...the very kind to provoke anger...and deals with troubled kids...I'd like to see every teacher get this...may just submit it to the school district and see if they'll spread it around...might save one life...
...this isn't the first time things got hot between the races here at the high school...but it's usually close to summer vacation...kids are under a lot of pressure these days, too...I won't go into all I've taught my son...but he's well trained....remember the days when once the kids were at school we thought they were safe for the day????

...she just emailed me that one of her best friends (teacher) saw the takedown yesterday and said a bad word in front of her class...those nicey-nice wimmen're waking up...how long it lasts...who knows...

...the school's letter on the second event said it wasn't loaded...today the teachers're finding out it was loaded with 14 rounds...guess the school didn't wanna look bad...
