It's made by Gerber. USA. I haven't been able to shake it out but it pulls readily. |

That looks good, Sheepdog. Just what you want for an all purpose knife.

...when you consider a knife might be left in the recipient or dropped...why spend hundreds when you can get a strong one for much less...probably one use in a lifetime if any...

The one I linked was less than $44.00, a good deal. That same shape in 5" or 5 1/2" would be fine. I'll have to look. It has all the features I think a fighting knife should have. Excellent design.

On the other hand, if you are in that once in a lifetime fight you want the best weapon you can have. The cost is unimportant even if you lose it, as long as you win.

It is the 5.25" blade. I went with the tanto style because I liked it better. I don't think it would work any better or worse for me. It also seems that it would stab better too. I may be wrong. I'm not a stabbing expert.

Another reason I went with the Kabar 5.25" blade. It's legal in more places. If a gun can't be with me, a knife is better than nothing.

It should do what you want. I think you will be happy. It should feel like a quality tool.
