...while reading on the oil spill in La...saw a story from Poison Control out of Shreveport warning the workers about coral snakes, water moccasins, and the three kinds of rattlesnakes they may encounter...the story said that Wyeth Labs, the folks who made the Coral snake antivenin, decided there wasn't enough profit in it and quit doing so...remaining doses...only SIX vials left in La, will expire in October...after that...it becomes almost a sure thing that a bite will be fatal...and about unpleasant as a divorce to go through...

I thought the military used to issue self administered injections to troops in areas with Coral snakes. Is this no longer done? Do they have a source? We are driving all our vaccine makers to other countries. If we persist in biting the hand that feeds us we are going to get hungry. |
