I doubt we would have the country we have now had our fore fathers allowed that to happen. But we seems to have a bunch of them now, they will want us to do the fighting once it has started. Yea right they just want to be on the winning side no matter who wins. These are the peole who see no reason for anyone to own or have guns. I have no use for these people and sure don't see the need to help them out either. |

....this country was built and has been maintained for many years by praying men and women!!! That's not the problem...the problem is that NOW a lot of those "praying" are sitting out and not voting and not speaking out and not doing ANYTHING good for the country...and they've forgotten that those who prayed for and about this country's beginning and through two World Wars and the Depression ALSO got off their butts and voted, held their politicians accountable, bought, loaded, and USED their firearms, and put their butts on the line as part of that answer to prayer...did not hide under the bed and hope...but got out there in the neighborhood and in the wars and looked evil in the eye and said "If it's you or me...it ain't gonna be YOU!!!" and fought to the death....WHERE'S THE FIGHT IN AMERICA NOW!!!!!!~!! Those that accused us of clinging to our Bibles AND our guns were articulating the two things they fear the MOST...our Bibles because they remind us who God created us to be...FREE MEN, and the guns because they keep us able to stand up to them...the two things EVERY man needs to cling to...and use diligently and judiciously in order to hang onto and protect all that is dear to him!!!

...I think they called 'em Tories in the first Revolution...fencesitters...wantin' to be identified with whoever was higher "in the polls"...I think in the Civil War they called 'em Yellowbellies!!! ...nope...researching it, the term actually began in the Revolutionary War...a certain group of English soldiers wore yellow-fronted uniforms...and were prone to break ranks and run when the fight began...so the term denoted derision towards cowardice...then in the Civil War and since, it was used to mean coward...person without any courage or will to fight for their beliefs... |

Tories were Loyalists. They were loyal to the Crown and felt themselves to be English subjects. I believe the Tories were almost as numerous as the revolutionaries, about 40% each. The remaining 20% did not care or were afraid to take a side. Many of the Tories did not take up arms, leaving it to the British army. This was a good thing. The Civil War is touted as a war between brothers or fathers and sons, but this also applied to the Revolutionary War. The victors write the history books and many Tories fled to England or elsewhere so the impression left was of a united America standing up to the British. Just as Lee wanted to support the Union but felt compelled to go with Virginia when it seceded, Washington himself resisted calls for rebellion until he felt there was no choice. |

It worries me when I look at our population. The people I remember as a youth, were a proud people that helped one another in time of need. Would stand up and fight for what they thought was right. Didn't take help from the Government or anyone else, unless it was absolutely necessary. Now I see just the opposite. No pride, don't want to cause waves because it might not be popular, want the Government to support them. It is a completely different population than it was 50 years ago, and a completely different USA. What I see now, I don't like. If it keeps going in the same direction, I might live to see the fall of America, and I'm already pretty old.

That's our fear, AR45. The population has changed so much in the last 30 years, that I can't see things continuing like this without the country falling apart.
