They aren't going to make as much noise as a shotgun rifle or pistol. Now I feel the next item to have actually several of them if you can swing it. A shotgun, Ga as far as I am concened a 12 ga most people are going to have that ga, most of the bg's will also have that ga. # inch chambers would be nicer to have just in case the Bg's have that type of ammo. I am not so sure a 3 1/2 inch would be of much use in the fact not many have them. But then again if it came down to you having to get junk yard dog mean having one in simi aotu wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Think I'll look into one and see what I can come up with. |

I think someone is talking himself into a cross bow and a semi auto shot gun. |

...not being a bowman...I'd agree on the crossbow...plenty of killing power and easier for a novice to hit with...and shotguns seem to jump out at me...I have two 12s and 3 20s...all pumps...all bought cheap and used...don't think there's a 3" chamber among 'em...

A 3 inch isn't really necessary, I just think it would be a major pluss to have one or two. My way of thinking ya just can't hve too many shotguns, actually ya just can't have too many guns and ammo really. Well think about it noise is one of your enemies, if your shooting to say get game where ya could have used a bow the Bg's are going the hear you along way off. Now they know that one your huntting and most likely have a camp near by. So if their smart they will wait and follow you back to your camp, and then they can see what you have and don't have. So yes I do beieve in a cross bow and yes I am looking for a good one that can drop game as close to a rifle as I can get. I feel this needed in the fact I at that time don't have time to chase the game to who knows where. From what I understand a cross bow is so close to being like a rifle ya will need just a little training easier to pick again if you haven't shot it in a while. In the Army one of the many things you learn is not to give your postion away to the enemy. Also I really need to get one of the old steel pots we use to call them, man they were everything to us. Ya can cook in them take a bath out of one wash your close out of them. They were and are a major survival tool. |

...it'd be good to have 3" so you could use those shells if you ran across them...I'd just trade to the more common 2 3/4", don't want a 3"...
