...I can't see the holes on the target at 100 yards...I'd have to have a reactive target...or break down and get a scope...

With the right barrel length, shells and chokes you can likely take anything in the US. If it flies or runs, climbs, walks, jumps etc.. you can take it with the shotgun. Now take a tactical model and buckshot and/or slugs and you've got a great home-defense weapon or one for your vehicle. You hit someone up with 9 pellets of 00 buck and he's going to quickly forget about wanting to harm you or your family. Definitely good shotguns in that capacity. A young guy I used to work with was telling me about the Ithaca shotguns that are being produced now in Ohio. I really did like the look of them and how they handled in the video but for the price you could get a couple of used Mossberg 500s or Remington 870s. Both of those are time tested and proven and the prices are very affordable. If you need a home-defense shotgun grab one of those bad boys and you're set. If you're not into the traditional shotguns as much Saiga has their AK 12 gauge. It's around $500 though and that's before the high capacity magazines. http://www.ithacagun.com/ |

...I had a satin nickel Ithica 8-shot pump with a dull wood stock in the 70s...slicker'n snot...I tried to get one a few years ago and the factory told me Law Enf ONLY...you don't see 'em used...had an Ithica double 20 with vent rib and chrome-lined barrels and hi-gloss stock...to die for...their quality was like a Swiss watch...don't know what the new ones are like...a good old American company!!!

The other one 30 inchs full choke. Yea both are mine and less that 4 bills they dn't for some reason bring much money here in Texas. I am sure glad of that as I got 2 great shotguns for less money. Also got a high standard JC Penny shotgun for 160 out the door some one cut off, its got a fixed barrel slick too, cut the butt stock down an inch and put a nice recoil pad of it great travel gun. I will buy a pump shotgun is 20 or 12 just about any time I can scrap the money up to do it, you can imo never have too many shotguns. |

I never seen anyone in PPC matches come near the wheel guns or bottom feeders . |
