Hornady ammo on sale at Cabela's

I just received the Cabela's shooting catalog & it looks like prices took a 5-10% jump, but a couple things caught my eye.

1. Hornady .223 Rem rifle ammo, 2 styles, 50 round boxes for $ 22.99 I like their 55 grain soft point bullet.

Are they really trying to sell Winchester 500 round 22 long rifle packs for $ 55? Am I missing something?

That's plum crazy!
A couple of weeks ago, I got 2 boxes of Winchester 333 for $37 from Academy, and that wasn't nowhere near a great deal.

Thanks--Just bought a couple of boxes of 9mm Critical Defense. Funny, I was just at Cabela's today and they didn't have the sale price on it. I'm way overdue for changing out my carry ammo.

The Critical Defense is good stuff. We just switched our CCW's ammo out ( it had been 2 years) & changed to Sig Sauer's new defense ammo. It tested really well for me.

I did shoot the old stuff prior to testing the new Sig ammo & it functioned great.

I noticed in the new C's catalog that Browning is making a new line of training/self-defense ammo.

It seems that everyone is getting in the ammo game with Browning, both Sig & Ruger jumping in also.

Think they started their own ammo plant or just hired one of the existing plants to make "their" ammo?

I don't know for sure! I always try to find out who make what for who, but it is not easy.

I have been trying for awhile to find out who makes Cabela's rifle scopes. I like the 2 I got.

You just reminded me that I bought a .22 rimfire Cabela's scope last week. It was in the cave as used. I suspect someone bought it and returned it. At $42 I couldn't pass it up.

They're not helping. Someone needs to nut up and build another plant. I don't see how it could lose.

Ted Cruz won't ban ammo!

I understand your point but this has gone on how many yrs now? The equipment would be paid for and they could be turnin a profit by now had they seized the opportunity. Easy for me to spend someone else's money, I know.
