It seems the metric name for a .22 Long would be the same as a .22 Long Rifle. LR has the same bullet diameter and case, but a longer bullet. I've Googled a lot, and can't find how metric users would express the difference. And it's okay to shorten the name to 5.6X15R. No one will slap you with a meter stick (39.37 inches). FWIW, the R is for a rimmed case, not rimfire. The .38 Special is metric 9X29R. Last edited by bearcatter; 04-21-2016 at 10:25 AM. |

I was wondering about the R. The Russians use R as Rimmed so that makes sense.

I don't think wal mart has 5.6x15r,not the last time I asked. But they did give me a funny look when I asked.
