I'm learning to have "enough"

Over the past two weeks, I could have had 4-5k rounds of new .22 ammo, more if stores didn't have a limit. I've seen American Eagle bricks, Mini-Mags, Golden Bullets, and Browning HP. And the usual stacks of pricey match ammo that barely sell here.

I didn't buy any. Oh, the temptation was there. A couple of times I had to pick it up and fondle it. Once I smacked my hand for reaching for a box. Then I was content to just stare for a minute. I'm getting stronger, just glancing at it on my way by today. I don't even drool anymore.

I have enough, I keep telling myself. Now, if I found some Federal Value Packs.......I'd probably fall off the wagon......

Good for you. We're at a point where we only buy our favorite ammo when we see it. We have enough of the "something to shoot" kind of ammo in case there is another shortage.

I expected ammo to get scarce once the primaries were over, but so far so good. Otherwise I wouldn't have quite as much as I do....

I do feel a tiny bit for the ones who didn't apply the effort or intelligence to stock up. If nothing else, it saves money over the long run. A majority of my stash cost less than half the price it is now.

So far, so good, up here in the sticks, too, on ammo availability. Only thing our local shops report is an increase in AR sales (and prices). Gives me hope that another ammo crunch is not going to happen, at least not soon.

I'm not expecting Trump to hurt us shooters, but wonder if he will do anything to improve our situation? So many of the bad gun laws are state level, and not sure how much Federal legislation could change that.

Target Bloomberg and Soros first. Follow their money and prosecute.

Our local gun shop has finally lifted his limit on 22 lr ammo to his loyal customers. He still has a 5 box limit on new customers. Good ammo supplys news travels fast. I was there yesterday and Mike took me to the back to show me. WOW what a pile, he said that 2 years worth of orders they sent it all to him over 5 days. I couldn't resist bought a box of 555 Win for $18.99 not sure if that good or not but it's cheaper than it's been. Tucks has always been cheaper than the big box store when they have the ammo.

Finally got my brother estate taken care of. I will never set foot in Florida ever again. No state is that screwed up. To ship guns under there law would cost 10x what the guns are worth. I broke them down into parts and shipped them to myself. Even the lawyer I hire down there tried to turn me into the police down there. The whole state is corrupt everyone wants a hand out or a reach around.

I just got back from Cabela's this morning. They had a special today only, on 325 round cartons of Federal High Velocity .22 Hollow Points for just $ 17.99 each with no limit. I bought 4 cartons. I had a $ 10.00 Off coupon which knocked it down to just $ 15.49 a carton.

It was funny because I got there just as they opened at 9:00 AM, and EVERYONE went straight for the .22's! No one was buying anything else. I grabbed my 4 boxes and got in line. The 3 people in front of me had several cartons, along with everyone behind me. Some people had 20 cartons or more. I'm guessing because they had no limit on it, they must have had pallets of the stuff.

Now with Trump in, and the Hildabeast gone for good, I suspect this stuff will all get cheaper. Especially after Christmas after everyone is spent out. It looks like all of these "shortages" are finally over. Thank God.

If the idiots dancing in the streets and burning up towns don't continue, and things calm down, then perhaps record gun sales and ammo sales will slow down. It would be nice to see ammo prices come down....way down. High prices of ammo has about taken the fun out of it. I remember when quality .308 got up to $1.75 per round.

Never was an appreciable run on ammo in our area, though that might have changed if Clinton had won. Yeah, a little stability in the ammo supply is a good thing for us shooters. About time.

I recently found I had 1,050 more rounds of 22 than I thought I had, when I had to empty my ammo safe to move it. More than enough already.....

Local word is that both Sportsman's Warehouse and Dick's will have Federal Value Packs on Black Friday. Both open at six when I'm already on my bus...........but maybe there'll be a box or two left by time I can look at ten that morning...............I have forty in my stash, 26 of them are the Welfare Wally brown box. I'll buy one new box just out of principle.

I also have a Gander nearby, but no word on their Black Friday ammo.

What will really help with Russian ammo and guns, is if Trump can make some in roads with Russia and Putin. Right now Obama has screwed up Russian importation. Trump is going to fix that. When that happens look for prices to drop on AK's and Wolf ammunition.

325 rounds is AutoMatch. THE Value Pack is Champion, 525 rounds most places, 550 at Walmart in a slightly different box, brown instead of blue. Copperwash HP.

Not any more. As the link shows the new Value Packs are 325 rounds, and are copper plated, high speed hollow points. I just bought 4 of them at Cabela's yesterday. It was a one day sale. But I'm sure after Christmas this stuff will be everywhere. The scalpers are finished. With current pricing and availability, (Wal-Mart not withstanding), they won't be able to unload all they've bought for what they paid for it.

I'm guessing there is going to be a huge glut of rimfire ammo when this all ends shortly. 30 round AR-15 magazines as well. People have been buying and stockpiling this stuff for years now. Most people who usually kept a brick or two, now have thousands of rounds piled up in closets and basements. With Trump in the White House the big scare is over. At least for 4 years, hopefully 8. It's about time this foolishness all ended.

As the Cabela's link also shows in the description window, that 325 box is a "Cabela's Exclusive". That's news to me. A little Googling shows the blue 525 pack is still there. Not sure about Wally World's exclusive 550 brown box. Whew!! That nearly gave me a conniption fit. I love those big boxes.

I remember a few years ago when Cabela's was selling these Federal 375 round Value Packs.
I think they were selling for $12.99 the last time I saw them.

I buy ammo as I shoot it or I find it at the right price. I picked up 10 boxs rem .357 mag 125 grain for $15.00 box at wal mart, for some reason they had it marked down. You can never have enough ammo, your gun is just a paper weight without ammo. O I also have about 250 12 ga 00 buck and 250 12 no. 6.

Never know hen to quit. I picked up a blur .270,charter arms 327 mag,and a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44mag from local pawn shop. They had just put them out at a good price so what could I do? They also had a Walter .380 that I looked at,just might go back and get it.Also bought 100 rds 270,200 rds .327,and200 rds .44 mag. Going to need more .327 and .44 mag ammo. I ought to always be able to find something to shoot. About four years ago I sold enough guns and ammo to buy a new pickup and a kubota rtv, worst thing I ever done.

For you guys and gals who are stocking up on all this ammunition. You're going to need something to keep it all in. I've found just the thing. I recently purchased several of these .50 Cal. ammo cans from Harbor Freight. They are of excellent quality! So much so, I'm going back this morning to purchase 5 more.

The quality of these is as good or better than the Mil-Spec cans you see at a lot of the gun shows. The only exception is they are brand new. But don't pay $ 15.99 for them. There are coupons for them at $ 12.99 in magazines everywhere. The seal on these are rubber, and they are nice and solid and completely waterproof. They are perfect for long term storage of rimfire ammo, as well as all other types. And they make a perfect container to transport ammo to and from the range.
