New Federal .22LR Re-packaging

Federal has new "Range and Field" packs, 275 rounds, Cabela's shows $ 20.00. The "Range" pack is 40 grain round nose, "Field" is 38 grain plated HP. Comes out to 7.26 cents each, before tax and shipping. That's like paying $ 38 for a Value Pack, as bad as Golden Bullet pricing.

I'm glad I have a good stock of good old Federal; Value Packs, Champion, and American Eagle. Haven't seen AE in months, the others in over a year.

They had the 325 paks of 36grain copper plated hollow points on sale for $ 17.99 awhile back. 5.5 cents/rnd. Didnt really need em but i bought a case. Think those 275 paks are 40 and 38 grain.

That's not a terrible price on the Norma, I try to never pay more than 5-6 CPR.

Thanks to Calamity Sue's purchasing tips awhile back, I still have about 12,000 rounds

I have quite a few of those Federal 325 packs. I like those alot, but my main supply is the Rem. GB buckets. They both perform very well for me.

So I guess the days of the $15 brick are history. I don't shoot much 22 so the price increases and shortages haven't affected me. Before Obama I stocked up on cast bullets, JHP's, and powder. I am also shooting less although I swore this summer I would get back to regular trigger time.

I'm in the same boat & prior to this election, got 3 years of powders/primers & 2,000 of each bullet. I got caught with my pants down after the Obama election & Sandy Hook & vowed not to let it happen again. Primers were an endangered species for about 15 months.

Cabela's has a deal going on with 5, 325 round Federal range packs in a metal ammo can for $ 74.99. It comes to just a bit over 4-1/2 cents a round. Not too bad.

The problem with buying .22 ammo today, is all the different packaging sizes and prices. .22 used to always come 500 rounds to a brick. Today it comes in most any amount. And you have to divide out the cost per round to have an accurate assessment as to what you're actually paying. This seems like a pretty good deal. I'm going to pick up a couple of cans.

At least it's available again, it was depressing to go to Wally World or local GS and see empty ammo shelves, for so long! Made me feel glad I took up reloading, over 60 years ago!

Pretty good deal on my favorite bulk .22, with free shipping.
A little over 4 a round.

That's a good price for now, especially with free shipping. The few I've seen in stores over the last few months were $25.

If I didn't already have 40 of them, 14 blue and 26 Welfare Wally's, it would be a deal. Some of my Wally's were $ 10.47, none of mine were over $ 20. Thanks to Nobama, I'm saving a bunch not having to buy any for a long while.

I purchased 4 of that same deal, but they put 4-550 round packs in them.
The good old days. I really like those metal ammo cans.

First I've seen that box. Specs just like the American Eagle RN, which is the same price? Probably same round, different box.

Now that so many of us have a gazillion rounds thanks to Obama, they need new gimmicks to get us to buy.

Yep or comparable to the Federal 710 Game-Shok.
