Old Winchester ammunition

Hey we found a very old box of Winchester ammunition "50 center fire pistol - revolver cartridges".
Do you know what year are they from? Are they still usable? Do they have any historical value?
Thanks!

I don't buy Winchester ammo, but maybe I can take a crack at it. The box looks different than their current box, and IIRC they quit using a styrofoam tray 10 or so years ago.

They don't look to be very tarnished, which is a sign they were probably stored correctly, so they should be fine to shoot. Stored in too much heat, or cold, or especially humid air, can damage ammo.

Someone else here could maybe pin down a date for these. If they are old enough, some collectors would be interested. In which case, a full box would have more value than one with cartridges missing.

Why don't you post in the New User section, and tell us a little about yourself? Like your favorite guns, and what type of shooting you do?

Since they are packaged in styrofoam I seriously doubt they have any historical value. I would guess 20 to 30 years old at most. If you have a .380 pistol shoot them up.
