.22 long rifle. It's an entry level biathalon rifle, Marlin only made them for a few years and, as I have been told, mostly with a fiberglass composite stock, so this one in laminate is somewhat rare. I just wanted a superbly accurate .22 and I think this is gonna be. Soon as it warms up a bit, I will bench it to see. If it performs, I might put a scope on it and shoot .22 benchrest and silhouette. Molon Labe Kim

...oughta strike matches...even their cheap .22s like the Model 60 are scary accurate...Marlin does .22 proud... |

In fact, it does. I read a good bit about these before I bought this one, and most said the weak link was the trigger. This one must have, at some time, had it's trigger tweaked. Don't think I could improve it any. Molon Labe Kim

Looks good, Kim. I'd ask for it, but you already gave it to, Danny. ![]() |

Oh, you know, the usual kind, lawyers, politicians, thieves, robbers and highwayman. Seriously, I hunt coyotes any chance I get, crows, when they are in season and present an opportunity, prairie dogs, .........probably more that I will think of later. Kansas is a hunter/shooters paradise, actually, a guy could hunt or shoot, around here, most any day. That Marlin is a target rifle, and that's why I bought it, great practice at low cost. Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I got into bullseye pistol shooting last summer and I've discovered light loads and wadcutters in my big bore pistols is quite informative and right much fun. We shoot .22 in the summer and big bore (over 30 caliber) in the winter. It's really improved my ability. This rifle is just an extension of that. Molon Labe Kim |

...i'm seein' more coyotes 'round here on the roadside...seems they're slowin' down a bit and gettin' runned over...crows aren't that plentiful here but we see 3-4 every week...no prairie dogs...saw thousands when I went to see my boys in OK at Ft Sill...they'd be a challenge at 40-50 yards(open sights)...wish we had 'em here...hardest part is finding a place to shoot critters...folks are touchy 'bout their land here... |
