They have been making them that way for many years now. Never seen one blown up yet. Matter of fact, I have two 77MK2s that I have had for many years and shot many, many rounds through.

Forged steel is thought to be stronger than cast. Rugers are known for there toughness, so maybe cast is better than people think. Or maybe that is why Rugers tend to have massive actions. For sure, you can count on nearly any ruger, especially there rifles and revolvers to be tough.
