I was recently told that Ruger is offering/going to offer the Ruger Scout Rifle in "left-hand action" as well as the std. right-sider. Anybody heard that...or know if it's correct info? The guy that told me was told by someone else, so I really don't know the original source...BUT...I sure hope that it's correct info!

Simply because you will never come close to getting half of your money on a trade or if you want to sell. This is just my opinon since I have never bought one or owned one. I really like the looks of the rifle and think it would really be a great rifle to have, plenty of fire power and has great looks to boot. Not wild about the extend eye relief scope mount but I have never shot one before either, has anyone shot one before? Last edited by Ornery; 08-29-2011 at 12:23 AM. Reason: had more to say. |

Never shot one with that type scope before, but on the Scout rifle you don't have to use the extended eye relief scope. You can remove the rear sight, and mount a regular scope via Ruger's integral base and the supplied rings.

Something goes wrong with the scope and you need to go beck to iron sights. Sounds like it might work with their scope mounting system. What do you think pal??? |

Your welcome Snuffy! Heck, I want one too! We have had 3 right hand versions in at work, and it was all I could do not to get one. My wife has a 77mk2 .308, and I have a 30/06, but this gun just calls out to me.

PLEASE stop talking about the Gunsite Scout ! I have been dreaming of one ever since Ruger announced it last year (or was it the year before). Now I must reeeeally begin saving. I can't have all of you get one and me be left out. |
