I gave some thought to renewing my CCP this year. It was set to expire in January 2016. I have not carried for some time now, but I have given some thought to that habit and think I may have to start carrying again. I spoke to my buddies at the LGS and they suggested I renew at least for one more five year period. Without it, buying would be a hassle. So, I did renew this morning, But I think it will be my last renewal. ![]() |

The way our laws are, up here, if I carry a handgun under a coat or jacket without a permit, I'm breaking the law and, up here, wearing a coat or a jacket is a nine or even ten months out of the year deal. Ever try carrying a gun on the outside of a heavy parka? Just no practical way to carry for us without a permit. Been a pack of coyotes running through the neighborhood the last few weeks. Have to keep the dogs in close when we go for a walk, so. yeah, carrying is still very important for me. Last edited by north country gal; 10-16-2015 at 08:42 AM. |

I stop in Taco Bells to get a $1.18 taco and a FREE senor drink and there was a 30.07 sign which is "no firearm " sign on the door which means no open carry as long as they don't post a 30.06 sign with it I can carry concealed . I can home and check the law make sure they didn't change it on me. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I carry every time I leave the house. I'll keep my licenses until I'm so old oatmeal is dribbling down my chin.

I'm thinking at that age I'll be too old to be stable enough to shoot straight or possibly be alive to renew it.:eek You too will sooner that later get to that point and time in your life. Since this past July a concealed carry permit is no longer required in Kansas. I guess this is a good thing, however, I can think of several people that I definitely wouldn't want to be carrying. I will continue to keep my permit since it will be required in other states. I am definitely not 100% in favor of being able to carry w/o a permit. I'm hoping that it won't lead to a preventable tragedy.

I just finished the first year of my second five year Virginia permit. I don't carry much, but I plan to keep renewing it. You never know when some goofy law could pass, ending new permits but letting those with one keep them. Our renewals aren't bad; the same $50 but just a short form to fill out.

CCP's are $80.00 for five years in North Carolina and there were at least five pages to fill out. Naturally I checked the wrong box on one of the pages. The Deputy was nice and pointed the mistake out to me and told me to correct it. I bet I was not in the sheriff's office over 10 minutes. Anyone that talks about background checks needs to come to NC and apply for a CCP. Believe you me the first time I did apply, they fingerprinted me and asked a lot of questions. It was interesting that one of the forms asked the addresses of all the places you had lived in the past. I do not know of a better background check for a gun owner in NC. |

My Washington State CWP expired about two years ago and I never bothered to renew it. I still have a current Arizona permit.
