I went there as well. Just after the movie was released. The first thing I said to myself after we got in there was, "I wonder how many people would die if this place caught on fire?" The place was all but packed solid. If you thought you might have to take a leak, you had better start looking for a bathroom. Because by the time you found one you were ready to pee in your pants.

I think a lot of Houston got bad after all of the Katrina refugees invaded by the bus loads, and never left. That, and it's "Sanctuary City" policy. Crime there is off the chart.

When I am in a normal situation like in the lower 48 I carry whenever I'm out of the house. Haven't touched a firearm since 5/22.

Gilley's was a goldmine, just a big old warehouse with beer taps on wheels. Low overhead for sure.

I first carried in Houston, illegally. I either had a Model 39 under the seat, or a Charter Undercover in the back of my pants. You just weren't comfortable "naked". Ninety percent of the crime then was illegals, probably still the same. Lots of hothead Mexicans. Thankfully then most of them only had knives.

If I'm dressed I am packing, unless I am going somewhere I can't like a government building. If I am not wearing one then one or more are near at hand. There are three loaded and in reach as I sit at my desk, not including the one I am wearing. I feel very uncomfortable without one, now.

I live and work in the Metro Detroit area. I never leave the house without a shootin' iron. If I know that I will go through a metal detector I will lock it in the car. Otherwise there are no "gun free zones" as far as I'm concerned. Concealed means concealed.

I'm retired and only carry when I'm going somewhere. I work on my old cars and have one pistol in the shop & another one in the garage. I live up in the hills and most folks are armed.
My only real concerns are people that I don't know dropping in for whatever reason when they might see the doors open & cars, parts, etc.
Where we are there are a lot of Pot farmers, mostly well isolated, and an occasional Bear.
If a large bear presented itself, I'd be F'ed
