Are there any other LCR lovers out there? Or haters. Maybe you have owned an LCR before & sold it for whatever reason. Lets compare notes.:)

I'm not allowed to bring one in my house (see my rule, below) and the ones I've tried in the store had a trigger pull from hell, though with Ruger, these days, you never know what you'll get for a trigger. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though, and beauty is as beauty does, so if it works for you, I'm happy for you, girl.
I was trying to be polite as I didn't have the heart to tell her its ugly.:-D Just kidding Sightngrl.:-D

I knew the minute that I laid eyes on the LCR it was for me. But I went to an indoor public range (another thread on that issue later) to rent one just to see how it shot before I bought one. I picked it up & blasted the target, checked my shots, the rest is history. I knew if I could pick up a gun that I had never shot before & hit paper, I should be good to go with practice. For some reason I don't have trouble with recoil shooting 38 & 38+P's w/ct grips. I have not shot any 357 ammo with it though. ;)

I am used to the J frame S&Ws and I like having a hammer, even a shrouded one. Even though I use it DA I like having the control, and I have encountered situations where a revolver could be cocked and fired SA but not fired DA. Everyone I have known that had one loved it though. I don't recall anyone having a problem and when I handled one the trigger pull was fine. I have a Mod 638 Bodyguard and a Mod 36 so that niche is well covered.

I have a the 38 Spl version of the LCR and am thinking of trading it on a Smith 642 when I get back home. I am also considering the 340PD but the price may make me rethink that one.

As to the LCR I have had a couple of trigger reset issues which were common with the early models. It is accurate and the trigger is excellent but it is a carry piece and the couple of issues creates doubt. I like the weight because it is exclusively for pocket carry but it is just butt ugly. My thoughts are unless you plan to pocket carry then get an SP101.

Late to the party, but I just joined and found this thread. Hello, Sightngrl !! I've missed your wit since I left the "other forum"..........

I have the .357 for carry, and the .22 for practice and fun.

I'm a bit of a dinosaur, so I barely live with the grip frames being plastic. At least the main frames are metal. I would like the .22 better if it's frame was stainless like the .357, and I'd like both better with a brushed finish instead of the black coatings. The .22's coating is more fragile than what's on the .357, and it's a royal pain cleaning around the forcing cone without scraping the coating.

I do like the triggers. The .357's is the best I've ever felt on a snub. I got lucky with my .22 and got a good trigger. It seems to be only a couple pounds heavier than the .357. It was the best of three in the store, and better than any I tried after.
